TiVo & RCN partner up for official cable company DVR
Great news for RCN cable customers in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Washington DC: RCN is partnering with TiVo to be the cable company's DVR provider. From the looks of the promotional site, it might just be a low-end TiVoHD with cable cards in it supplied and subsidized by RCN, but that would mean no on-demand style programming. The first bullet point says "Access to Video ON DEMAND from RCN".

Yeah, they'll be using TiVoHD sort of hardware. VOD will be provided via TiVo's partnership with Seachange announced in the Spring.
