TiVo ads at the end of programs
Today TiVo announced "Program Placement" or ads inserted at the end of a recorded program when you are deleting the program.
Overall, it sounds less annoying than other ideas floated about ad inserts, since it's in a little-used section of a single TiVo menu. I haven't seen it yet, but hopefully the ad instance doesn't interfere with the ability to delete a show, because if "Show Me More Info About $Advertiser was the default highlighted option, I could see it being a big problem. If it's the bottom option to read more about something or just a banner graphic above the choices to delete, it'll probably be easy to ignore.
Anyone got any screenshots of this in action?

I have yet to see ANY ads that TiVo has "announced" on it's box...and I've had various TiVo's since 2000. They said there were going to be ads when you paused programs, ads above the timeline when you're fastforwarding through a program and now ads when you're deleting a program.
Is anyone signing up for these?

Well, hopefully the clear button still deletes without going into the menu. I won't even need to contemplate the added menu option if the clear button still works.

I would guess that "show me the ad" WILL be the default choice. After all, "keep" is the default choice now, so you already have to navigate away from the default to delete the program.

Matt, I've now seen this on our TiVo.
In my case it was whilst deleting Studio 60. The ad was positioned at the bottom of the window, where the yes/no prompt used to be. It was a one-liner for the Weather Channel (!) with a gold star set against a blue background - solid blue - and the TWC logo.
I didn't try selecting it but, the verbiage indicated that it was a third option on the menu.
The yes/no prompt is moved to the center of the screen, basically, and "Keep this program" is still the default.
It was annoying, to be sure.

Yes, this is happening now. It really irritates me and every time I see it I get mad and hate my tivo. I paid a lot of money for 3 years of tivo service. I wish I hadn't even though up until now I've liked my tivo except for the ads on the main menu.
