Bruce Willis, self-proclaimed "devout fan" of TiVo

Willistivo

On tonight's Daily Show, Bruce Willis seemed a bit off kilter (drunk or high? both?) but spent a few lucid minutes proclaiming his love of TiVo, saying he's a huge fan of both the Daily Show and his TiVo that lets him catch the show.

Here's a 20Mb MPEG2 excerpt from the show.

I'd vote for 'hung over' - he did say that he 'lost a few hours' around 05:30 that morning, and that he'd blown off the morning show he was supposed to be on. And he said he was in the same clothes he'd been in the previous night, and that Jon should 'roll with him' sometime.

I think he was out partying all night. ;-)

Why haven't we heard any anecdotes from the tivo employees who've had frustrated tech support phone-calls from celebrities? We all know, there *have* to be some! Where are you people with the stories!?

My QuickTime Player app won't play the video.

Am I missing some codecs perhaps?

l'il help?

Yeah, Dennis quicktime requires a commercial mpeg2 plugin codec. You can play it in free open source mplayer and vlc clients (just google for them to find downloads)

Um, I thought he was saying he was a devout fan of Tivo at first, but I think he's saying he's a devout fan of TDS instead.

Willis was bangin lindsay lohan the prev night, according to gossips.

Tim,

I agree. The "devout fan" was a compliment to the show and the host. In fact Willis seemed a little lukewarm about TiVo.

Not that anyone should care what he thinks.

Isn't this just more pop culture adoration/hatred bullshit? I am sickened at MYSELF for even responding to this kind of conversation. I have GOT to get a Life.

Does it support closed captioning?

Hmmmmm

Heh. Sort of ironic, considering that "The Daily Show" is one of those annoying ones that *never* has consistent or complete guide data. And so season passes set to record just the "new" shows daily end up failing... instead recording 6 times daily!

This has been going on for years, too. Setting a "manual recording" defeats the point of TiVo's intelligence, not to mention the worth of paying a subscription fee.

I hate to say it, but this is the reason I don't have an SP for the show.

This not only happens on tivo, but other DVRs as well. And he is obviously high and talking about how much he likes the show.
