Browse Flickr from your TiVo
Developer Andrew R. Wallace has created a way to browse the photo-sharing site Flickr from TiVo using the new Home Media Engine feature, and it looks great. I just tried it out and my Flickr account is completely available from my TiVo. I think this has a good chance of winning Best Photo Application in the TiVo Developer Challenge.
HME apps require System 7.1, which includes TiVoToGo. If you have System 7.1, you'll need to allow HME apps to run by going to System Information and pressing clear clear 0 0 on your remote. Then, just download the Java program and run it on your computer. You can find out more at the developer's site or rate it at HME PVRblog.

This is how TiVo saves itself. This stuff is starting to trickle. If TiVo can hang on for another 18 months, it'll be a torrent:)

I just realised that TiVo does not allow the use of their logo in these HME apps, it is a condition for entering the competition too, so I changed the backgroup image.

Just installed, works like a charm!! Wonderful. Would like option to adjust length of slide shows and remove the filename on black screen, but it's a great app! Congrats!
Tapping into developers creativity and energy was a brilliant move and will ultimately save Tivo!

I've been trying to get someone to make an Xbmc flickr plugin for sooooooo long. I just need to find time and hack it up myself. This is great!
Does anyone know if my stand alone series 2 hacks will get overwritten if i update my tivo software? i want to play with the api, but i'm afraid all my hacks ill go null if i do.

This stuff should be made open-source man! :) Then anyone can grab it and customize to get it to run on XBMC and stuff! I REALLY want an XBMC version for Flickr as well. This absolutely looks AWESOME! :)
