TiVo has posted some enthusiastic projections regarding their membership. Now that they've past the 1 million mark, they're projecting 3 million by the end of 2004 and ten million in just a few years after that.
I'd be surprised if they hit these marks, the sector is quickly becoming overcrowded with cheaper options.

surprised? if they do not it means they are out of business- in 3-4 yrs there should be 30-40 million dvrs on the market- in fact there is expected to be 30 million dvd/ dvr-R s on the market as well- of which tivo will be included in a significant amount- so even with say 20% of the dvr market, and 20% of the dvd/ dvd-r market you would see that 10 million- is that unrealistic? I do not think so
