Record TV from your mobile
Web browser maker Opera has announced they're working on the capability to record TV from your mobile phone, via their phone browser and simple internet standards. They don't mention any compatible units and any PVRs that would work would require an always-on internet connection. This basically sounds like they're announcing support for WAP or simple HTML front-ends to PVRs that can be controlled via the web.
Snapstream's BeyondTV already does this with any WAP enabled cell phone and I know TiVo has announced upcoming support for phones to remotely program your TiVo through TiVo Central. [thanks JG at mobiletracker for passing this along]

And RTVs can do this (HTML interface) right now when used with the DVArchive program. You can browse & search tv listings (up to 12 days in advance) and start recordings from any device that has internet access & can do html.

And TiVo users can do this with TiVoWeb (or the new TiVoWebPlus.) The first time I set up a last minute recording via my Treo 600, was the first time I felt truly ALIVE.

The idea of being able to record a show from my phone just makes me drool. I can't wait!

I don't know if this is the best thing to come along, or the worst.. I guess it's great, because most of the time I recall that I forgot to TIVO a show, I'm not in front of a TV.

Snapstream is a piece of garbage. The technical support is a joke (their suggestion: try reinstalling XP). Trust me, you're better off with a replaytv with DVArchive tools.
