Myth-TV HOWTO
Tom Walsh has a great article over at Newsforge entitled "A happy MythTV user shows the way" where he walks people through his trials and tribulations in getting MythTV up and running in his entertainment setup. And best yet, he's honest about its difficulty and cost
I do agree that a MythTV setup is not economically cheaper than a TiVo unit and that the MythTV project is a rather advanced Linux project. But if you have the experience and are willing to put in the time and persevere, you can be as satisfied with the result as I am.
What I personally recommend is trying out KnoppMyth if you are even remotely interested in MythTV to test it out before spending that one grand to get all your dream hardware together. It might not be for you. Or your spouse.

I have a minor blog with my experiences with mythtv.org. I say minor because once you get the machine running, all one wants to do it watch all the cool shows. Blogging takes a hit. But, it's still fun to do both.

Hello,
A Myth-Tv forum has been opened one week ago, and seems to be starting quite well. If someone needs, information about Myth, it could be a good place to go...
This forum is called MythTVtalk.com
Bests,

Not to mention adding the ability to stream MythTV recordings over the Internet (open source Slingbox):

New LinuxMCE release adds a 3d gyro ui for Myth and fully pnp setup
The new release is now integrated with MythTV and gives it a gyro-controlled UI that lets you navigate long lists of media and the TV's EPG by waving, like a Wii, for fast, smooth control. Also wave to scan through your media and adjust volume and lights.
There's a new demo walkthrough video on Google Video, and also available in high-def at linuxmce.org. Installation is 25 minutes and every step is shown starting with a clean PC.
