myHTPC looks like a free clone of the Windows Media Center XP interface, available for free personal use. It's a generic front-end to PC apps and allows for mouse, keyboard, and/or remote input.
I'm downloading it and giving it a spin this week, I'm hoping it's fully customizable and I can run winamp and snapstream through it. [via Anil].

I have started a site http://www.hometheatercomputer.net. We have HTPCs available using the myHTPC software as the front end. All systems come preconfigured with the most common options and ready to add media and go.
If you would like to take a look, and give me any feedback, I would appreciate it. I can also be found on the myHTPC forum as mike74.
Thank you

Hi their I have downloaded this programme and have totally configured it to run CDs,live TV, Games, Music, Pictures, Home Movies, DVDs, in fact you can add as many buttons as you like to the menus and create sub menus and asign programs to menu buttons. You can skin in it, in fact you can do virtually anything with this programme when it comes to home entertainment. There is also a remote control feature which will allow you to configure a remote control so you can just sit in your armchair and have fall confidence in your selection. You can get a remote control for this programme from these websites.

Checkout Google and do research on PC remote to find more remote controls
This programme myHTPC is definitely worth checking out.

I'm new to all of this. Checking out front ends. Every time I try to follow a link to myHTPC, I get redirected to Meedio. Is it the same? I thought they were two different programs.

myHTPC was made by the same people. Once myHTPC gained enough users and recognition, they decided to take it commercial and Meedio was born. You can still download myHTPC, but it is no longer supported.
Regarding the comment: "myHTPC looks like a free clone of the Windows Media Center XP"...seeing that myHTPC came first, I would say MCE XP is a clone of myHTPC/Meedio.
