JD Power and Associates TV study

JD Power and Associates recently released their 2002 Cable/Satellite TV Customer Satisfaction Study results, with the two satellite companies clearly ahead of the pack. I've been a customer of MediaOne, Comcast, and DirecTV, and although I would say I was overall most happy with the DirecTV service itself (it had the best picture, best sound, and best reliability), I used to get phone spammed constantly by DirecTV when I was a customer. I swear I had weekly calls reminding me that pay-per-view and HBO existed, as if I didn't already know (and use both). [via mmmBlog]

I once got phone spammed by DirecTV - the worst kind - an automated call. (You can't tell an automated call to put you on their DO NOT CALL list, unless they choose to give you the "Press 9 to be removed from our list" option at the end of their automated sales pitch.)

A call to DirecTV to complain ended the problem - no more phone spam.

Dish network was a nightmare. Just a few months into my first year commitment, my receiver failed so I called "Dish" to get instructions on how and where to send it in for service. Not only did they through it out and charge me around a seventy five bucks to send me another one, but at the end of the year they refused to credit me for the two months this took to resolve. This is just a small part of the problems. Needless to say, I now enjoy my roof antenae, with around 18 stations from Erie Pa, Buffalo NY and Canada, all with NO COST. Thanx Dish.
